Moscow-SANA, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the United States is avoiding responding to the Russian demands

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the United States is avoiding responding to Russian demands regarding refuting false accusations about Moscow's alleged interference in American affairs.

Russia Today quoted Lavrov as saying at a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Moscow today: “We have offered to our American colleagues time and again to deal in different ways with these baseless and false accusations. The accusations are that Russian hackers breached the networks of the Democratic and Republican parties and other sites in order to somehow influence the opinions of voters.

Lavrov added that Russia also proposed to Washington to issue a bilateral statement in which both parties declare their total rejection of interfering in each other’s affairs, indicating that the American side has been “systematically avoiding years ago from working in any of these directions, contenting itself with launching calls for Moscow to stop interfering in its affairs.” .

Lavrov pointed out that the United States also accuses several countries of interfering in its affairs, including China, the DPRK and Iran, stressing that Russia "is open to honest dialogue, but this requires the American side to crystallize its complaints in a way that allows us to understand its content."

Russia has repeatedly rejected the allegations made by American politicians and lawmakers about its interference in the election race in the United States, stressing that it has never sought to influence the election campaign there and considers this an internal American affair.

In addition, Lavrov affirmed Russia and China’s joint position, which is based on rejecting unilateral US actions aimed at undermining the joint comprehensive action plan for the nuclear agreement with Iran, saying that “Russia and China, along with the vast majority of the member states of the UN Security Council, reject American attempts aimed at undermining this international agreement. Which is considered the most important for the world and which was approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2231 ”.

Lavrov stressed that Russia and China do not tolerate the illegal unilateral measures taken by the United States in connection with the nuclear agreement with Iran.

It is noteworthy that Iran and the Group of Five Plus One countries, which included Russia, the United States, Britain, China and France, in addition to Germany, reached an agreement on the 14th of July 2015 on the Iranian nuclear program, which stipulated the adoption of a comprehensive joint action plan providing for the removal of the economic and financial embargo measures imposed on Iran. From the UN Security Council, the United States and the European Union, however, US President Donald Trump announced in May 2018 his country's withdrawal from the agreement and the reinstatement of sanctions against Tehran in defiance of the will of the international community, which constituted a violation of international resolutions in this regard.

On the other hand, Lavrov called on Germany to fulfill its obligations regarding the case of the dissident Alexei Navalny, who is being treated in one of its hospitals for allegedly being poisoned, and to "stop the ridiculous actions."

Earlier, Lavrov announced that Moscow had nothing to hide about the Navalny incident, and at the same time, it had not yet received new information from the German side.
