A mountaineer had an accident on the Benediktenwand on Wednesday.

- According to the mountain rescue service, the 42-year-old came off the path around 9:30 a.m. shortly after leaving the Tutzinger hut and got into steep, impassable terrain.
There he lost his footing and fell about 50 meters between the rocky slopes.

Other hikers heard the calls for help and notified the mountain rescue service, reports the deputy on-call manager Christian Kellner.
The volunteers quickly found the injured man with the help of a helicopter.
The 42-year-old was bleeding profusely from his head and injured his knees.
The rescuers took him into the helicopter with the winch and took him to the accident clinic in Murnau.
