The day of the open monument next Sunday will be a little shorter this year.
But it is taking place, despite the pandemic.
Monument Open Day is usually very popular
This year there is a slimmed-down program due to the corona
Three events take place in the northern district
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen
- from the forge to churches to the Walchensee power station: in September you can usually visit monuments all over the country that are otherwise not accessible to the general public.
But this year the Open Monument Day will not take place as usual.
The reason is, on the one hand, that no successor has been found for the departed district home nurse Maria Mannes, and on the other hand, the current infection situation.
In Geretsried, for example, the memorial day and the associated village festival were canceled by the city administration with reference to the pandemic.
Only a few events are dedicated to well-known monuments - mainly in the northern district.
An overview.
Wolfratshausen: The Isarkaufhaus
The historical association decided at short notice to hold the event announced in the annual program - albeit in a reduced version in order to meet the official requirements.
Interested viewers should be given a short overview of the three formerly listed and historic buildings of the former Isarkaufhaus by means of a small insert.
The board members Annekatrin Schulz and Wiggerl Gollwitzer take over this part on the hour at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. in front of the old Wolfratshausen surveying office.
The half-hour film “50 Years Isarkaufhaus” by Ickingen filmmaker Rüdiger Lorenz will then be shown in the inner courtyard of the town hall.
Mouth and nose masks must be worn during the entire performance.
The standing room marked for spectators and the resulting distance must be observed.
Admission is free.
The event also takes place in bad weather and is only canceled in case of heavy rain.

The meeting point is at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., the number of participants is limited, meeting point at the monastery gate.
In addition, monastery gardener Rosi Manhart gives an insight into the lush monastery garden, which she tends with devotion.
It starts at 11 a.m., meeting point at the monastery gate, admission is three euros, a maximum of ten people are allowed.
The monastery studio with artist Elke Härtl (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and Michael Matschuk's monastery bakery (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) are also open.
The highlight of this day is the so-called Totengang, which was restored for the exhibition.
Bettina Dittlmann's exhibition “The Dresses of Maria” can also be seen in the garden pavilion.
There is also a digital offer for this.
The diocese would like to point out that the current hygiene and distance rules apply to all visitors to the monastery, including the studio, workshop and catering.
You are asked to come with mouth and nose protection and to wear it during the entire visit.
As the number of visitors is limited, there may be short waiting times at the entrance.

Ammerland: The castle chapel
The Ostuferschutzverband (OSV) invites you to Ammerland on Sunday, September 13th.
There you can visit the castle chapel of the Holy Three Kings on Nördliche Seestrasse.
Visitors are asked to be at the chapel at 5 p.m.
In order to comply with the current Corona rules, only six people are allowed per tour.
Mouth and nose protection is also mandatory.
First chairwoman Ursula Scriba asks you to register by calling 0 81 77/9 23 10 or by email to osv-vorstand @ scribaup.de.
The East Bank Protection Association has been renovating and restoring the chapel for the Münsing Church Foundation since 2007 with the aim of making the branch church accessible to the public again.
Pastor Martin Kirchbichler is planning a place of silent devotion and prayer here.
The palace chapel was completed in 1685.
It offered local fishing and farming families as well as the servants of the Ammerlander Schloss the opportunity for masses and prayer.
