The Iranian army announced today that it issued warnings against American drones that approached the area of maneuvers being conducted in the east of the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean, stressing that the American planes were forced to move away after receiving the warnings.
The Iranian Fars News Agency quoted Shahram Irani, a spokesman for the Iranian “Zulfiqar 99” maneuvers that began yesterday morning, as saying that the army's air defense forces issued warnings to foreign planes and asked them to move away from the general area for the exercises, explaining that the air and naval units, including B3 aircraft The F-27 and reconnaissance aircraft issued warnings to foreign forces to leave the area of the exercises.
Irani indicated that “American reconnaissance aircraft were working to collect information from the maneuver area,” stressing that they were “forced to leave the area after realizing the readiness of the Iranian monitoring, control and defense systems” to repel them, as Karrar was sent by the Air Defense Force to pursue American drones.
The ground, air and naval forces of the Iranian army began wide maneuvers in the south of the country for a period of three days, and the army said that it would witness tests of launching cruise missiles from the "Fateh" ship and helicopters.
