The United Nations General Assembly adopted a comprehensive resolution on combating the Corona pandemic, in which it considered the epidemic to be one of the biggest global challenges that the United Nations has faced since its inception.
RIA Novosti reported that 169 countries voted in favor of the resolution, while the United States and "Israel" opposed it, amid Ukraine and Hungary abstaining from voting.
The General Assembly expressed its deep concern over the devastating impact of the epidemic on society, the economy, employment systems, global trade, travel, agriculture, industry and the business sector.
The United Nations affirmed that the consequences of the pandemic are more negatively reflected on the lives of women, the elderly, youth, children, the poor and the vulnerable, noting that the Corona crisis has caused a rise in forms of discrimination, hatred and racism, calling for combating these manifestations, and expressing concern about the spread of misinformation and propaganda about the epidemic, including through The Internet and stressed the need to provide effective, high-quality and safe diagnostic methods to detect the virus and provide treatment, medicines and vaccines to combat it in the world.
