The Election Commission in Iran announced the closure of polling stations for the second phase of the parliamentary elections and the counting of more than two-thirds of the votes.
"More than two-thirds of the votes in the electoral districts have been counted, and the results are being compiled in the monitoring committees in the provinces before the official results are announced by the election commission," Fars News Agency quoted the election commission spokesman, Ismail Mousavi, as telling reporters.
The spokesman added that the second phase of the parliamentary elections will lead to the election of 10 deputies who will enter parliament after the official results of the elections are announced.
