A week after its defeat at Clermont, Toulouse recovered at home by winning against Stade Rochelais 39 to 23. Dominators at the start of the match, the Haut-Garonnais have quickly took the lead thanks to a try from Cheslin Kolbe at the end of the line (11th), ideally served by a jump pass from Thomas Ramos.

Behind, the Rochelais will gain strength and rely on the domination of their pack in the first period to pick up the score with a banderilla from Pierre Bourgarit (19th), after a ball carried.

The debates are gradually balanced and it is on a personal feat of Cheslin Kolbe (33rd), author of a double after beating two defenders from La Rochelle, that the Stade Toulousain offers a comfortable mattress at the break (20 -10).

Ugo Mola and his staff have decided to make no less than eight changes in the starting XV compared to the team defeated in Clermont last weekend.

To overcome the suspensions of Joe Tekori and Richie Arnold in the fray, Jerome Kaino will be aligned in the second row, alongside Rory Arnold.

The Mauvaka hooker was preferred to Marchand and will be supported by the Faumuina and Castests pillars.

In the back lines, Antoine Dupont keeps his place in the scrum and will officiate as captain, alongside Romain Ntamack, at the opening.

The arrows Huget and Kolbe take their place on the wings while Ramos holds at the back.

A week after the long-awaited resumption of the Top 14 on hexagonal lawns, Stade Toulousain, 2019 champion, therefore finds Stade Rochelais for what constitutes a shock of contenders in the final stages.

During the first day, Ugo Mola's men bowed to Clermont (33-30) after being refused a try in the last moments.

For their part, the Maritimes overcame Rugby Club Toulonnais (29-15), Marcel-Deflandre, and will therefore have to confirm their good momentum at Ernest-Wallon.
