Alexander Zverev knows his opponent in the US Open final.
World number 7, the German will indeed face Dominic Thiem, 3rd in the world, on Sunday for the title win.
The Austrian got the better of the Russian Daniil Medvedev (5th) during the second half of the American Grand Slam (6-2, 7-6, 7-6) this Friday, in Flushing Meadows.
Thiem, 27, will play his fourth Grand Slam final.
He lost the first three against Rafael Nadal (twice) and Novak Djokovic.
Recall that Zverev, who won Pablo Carreno-Busta, rose to this level for the first time.
