The United Hospital said that the Department of Radiology and Organography found a spot check on the report conducted on the 8th of this month that the department’s bone density testing instrument had a deviation in the reference range.
From July 15th to September 2nd, the bone density test performed by the department for 41 patients misquoted other average bone density reference range readings, resulting in slight deviations in the bone density test report.
Colleagues from the radiology and organ imaging department have updated the system immediately, quoted the applicable reference range readings, re-analyzed the patient's bone density, and updated the bone density test related reports and notified the hospital.
Forty-one patients had undergone the above-mentioned bone density test during the period, and 24 patients were not affected by the incident because the report was updated immediately and had not yet returned to the hospital for follow-up consultation.
In addition, the hospital has immediately reviewed the cases of 17 patients who had been to the United Christian Hospital or Tseung Kwan O Hospital for follow-up. They were informed of the bone density test reports of 11 of them. After applying the applicable reference range readings, the conclusions of the previous report were compared. the same.
Among them, 6 patients reported conclusions due to different values. After the specialists reviewed the patient reports and related clinical medical records again, it was confirmed that the clinical treatment plan was not affected by the report differences.
