A number of Lebanese demonstrated towards the Baabda Palace, demanding improvement of living conditions and accountability for those responsible for the Beirut port explosion.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the demonstrators set out from the building of the Palace of Justice in the capital, Beirut, heading to the Presidential Palace in Baabda, to protest against the status of living, economic and social conditions in Lebanon, calling for the corrupt persons to be held accountable and for those responsible for the bombing of the Beirut port last August, amid the spread of elements. The Lebanese army and security forces.

For his part, the Lebanese Army Command said in a statement that confrontations took place between demonstrators and security forces after the youths tried to cross the human barrier erected by the security forces.

The statement added that a number of demonstrators threw stones and sticks to the security forces, who responded by firing in the air and smoke bombs in order to keep them away before calm returned to the vicinity of the Presidential Palace in Baabda after the army brought in reinforcements to control the situation.
