tariff increase

on Thursday

On average, prices will rise by

It is the first increase in three years.

In Munich, the MVV prices are increasing: politicians justify measure by the MVG

Munich's

Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD)

told our newspaper on Thursday: “An increase, even if it is moderate, will of course never go down well with customers.

We are aware of this, and that is why we have not increased it for the past two years. ”But this time it was simply not possible due to the increased costs.

“We want to further expand the range of our local public transport and make it more attractive.

For this reason there was unfortunately no getting around the increase. "

CSU parliamentary group leader Manuel Pretzl

assesses this similarly when

asked

by our newspaper: “A tariff increase is always regrettable for passengers.

Obviously, for economic reasons, it was unavoidable this year. ”A moderate adjustment of ticket prices is necessary in view of the increased costs in all areas, said MVV managing director Bernd Rosenbusch.

"Only by offsetting the increased costs is it possible for us to continue to guarantee our passengers an attractive range of services, to expand it further and to maintain the high quality standards."

The commuters concerned see things differently, of course. Can “greener” mobility really find its way in this way?
