Gasly, inevitably very disappointed
Pierre Gasly at the microphone of Canal +: “The start was correct.
Afterwards, at the first corner, there were a lot of us.
There was room in the middle of the track but it closed.
This is not what we would have liked ... It's a shame.
I was confident to come back today.
We are missing an opportunity ”

Verstappen victim of his car
At the start, the Dutchman had no power.
This is surely due to the problem encountered before the race on which his mechanics worked on the grid.
Unfortunately, the Red Bull driver's race was over following the incident at turn 2.

Ocon still 10th
The Frenchman has not moved his position despite the incidents.

The qualification of the French
Difficult tomorrow for
Pierre Gasly
.
Victorious in his first Grand Prix in F1 last Sunday at Monza, the Normand missed out on qualifying on Saturday with the 16th fastest time.
He will start just behind another Habs,
Romain Grosjean
, who took 15th place with his Haas.
Finally,
Esteban Ocon
was able to climb into Q3 with his Renault.
The ex-Mercedes driver will start in a few moments from the tenth position.

The 1000th Ferrari Grand Prix
27 is the number of Grand Prix missed by
Ferrari
since 1950 and the start of F1.
On the occasion of the 1027th Formula 1 GP, Ferrari is celebrating its 1000th race in the category.
And the calendar does things well since the event takes place in Italy, on the Mugello route.
For the occasion, the Scuderia takes on the red color (darker than today's red) of the first F1 and celebrations were organized throughout the weekend.
But this anniversary falls badly because Ferrari is struggling this season, very far among the drivers and only sixth among the manufacturers ... If Leclerc has achieved miracles in qualifying, the race promises to be more delicate.

95th pole for Hamilton, Verstappen as a hunter?
Untouchable as often.
Author of his 7th pole of the season, the 95th in his career, and therefore the first at Mugello,
Lewis Hamilton
again dominated the qualifying session on Saturday.
This time around, the battle was close between him and
his team-mate
Valtteri Bottas
, but once again the Briton ended up gaining the upper hand.
Behind the Black Arrows,
Max Verstappen
(Red Bull) follows, as very often and for once,
Alexander Albon
, his teammate also (4th).
We will note and salute the fifth place of
Charles Leclerc
at the wheel of his Ferrari, always so disappointing this year.
Conversely,
Sebastian Vettel
, on the other Scuderia, will start from the 14th row.

Mugello, a first
“This track is really amazing.
These words are those of Lewis Hamilton, after qualifying on Saturday.
For a first, Covid-19 obliges, the Mugello circuit, which hosts the Grand Prix of Tuscany and for the first time Formula 1, made a strong impression with the drivers.
Fast and demanding, especially on the sequence of turns 6-7-8-9, thoroughly, the Italian layout is a real great discovery.
Welcome to race day - and welcome to a Mugello race day!
