Arrival in camera

As we learned yesterday, the arrival at the top of the Grand Colombier will ring hollow while no spectators will be allowed in the last 400 meters before the line, then 200 meters behind.

Three big difficulties in the program

Egan Bernal is 3rd at 59 seconds overall

A third week with the polka dot jersey for Benoît Cosnefroy?

40 points of the mountain will be distributed today, including 20 for the stage winner at the top of the Grand Colombier.

With only 5 points ahead of his teammate Nans Peters (AG2R La Mondiale) and the Swiss Marc Hirschi (Sunweb), the Normand is in great danger and could abandon his thrilled tunic on the occasion of the second stage in Nice.

No doubt that he will try his luck in a breakaway at the foot of the first difficulty of the day: the Montée de la Selle du Fromentel.

Colombians can enter their Tower

Used to training at altitude, South Americans will be able to show off their skills in these still very difficult conditions.

While a Colombian quartet follows the leading Slovenian duo enthroned at the top of the general classification, an alliance of circumstance is not to be excluded.

Egan Bernal, (Ineos Grenadiers) certainly the strongest of them and in any case the best ranked, must reposition himself to remain in the race for his own succession.

Behind him, Rigoberto Uran (EF Pro Cycling), the most experienced, could take in his wake his closest pursuers Nairo Quintana (Arkéa-Samsic) then Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana).

In retreat since the departure from Nice, the Colombian champion Sergio Higuita could also have a card to play.

🎙🇨🇴 @UranRigoberto "I know the Grand Colombier, it will be a pretty difficult climb. Today is a great day in the Tour de France. The Slovenes are very strong and the Colombians too. Today is a good day. "# TDF2020 pic.twitter.com/LjEsRZiW2t

"The victory will not be tomorrow or in ten days (laughs). There is always an opportunity, certainly rare, but it will have to be seized. If there is an opening I will go!".

Thibaut Pinot: "it's a pass that does not forgive" (France Télévisions)

“It's a climb that I know, very difficult.

It is a collar that does not forgive.

I have back pain which makes me very limited.

I'm not going to wait, we'll see at the start of the race whether the sensations are good or very bad like yesterday. ”

Primoz Roglic at ease in the Jura

What if the yellow jersey folds the race one week from the end?

Primoz Roglic knows the day's climbs perfectly well, starting with the one-off Grand Colombier, where he won a month ago at the end of the Tour de l'Ain, which he also won.

At the top, he got the better of Egan Bernal, who appeared tested at Puy Mary on Friday and already one minute behind the Slovenian in the general classification.

The opportunity for a high-flying duel between the two men while Roglic had also taken the lead at the top of the Col de la Biche in 2017. A great battle is ahead before heading to the Alps, unless Tadej Pogacar is not the only one to give the change to his compatriot.

🎙🇸🇮 @rogla "It was a very fast race. It's the Tour de France. It was a long time to come to Lyon with a lot of obstacles. Tomorrow it will be a new challenge. I can't controlling others, I focus mostly on myself. "# TDF2020 pic.twitter.com/YfsCJrgt8M

Stage profile: unprecedented final at the Grand Colombier

174.5 kilometers on the program for this stage from Lyon, including 100 flat to start.

Then, things get tough with the ascent of the Montée de la Selle de Fromentel followed closely by that of the Col de la Biche, both listed in category 1. Finally, for the first time, the justice of the peace of this 15th This stage will be the very demanding Grand Colombier (1,500 meters above sea level) with its 17.4 kilometers at 7.1% average slope.

The five reasons to take the 15th step

For the Grand Colombier.

Honored for the first time with a summit finish (1501 m; 17.4 km at 7.1%).

The panoramic view and the breathtaking spectacle can be combined with an explanation at the top.

Since 2012, when the Grand Colombier entered the Grande Boucle, the test has been passed three times in the mountain located at the southern end of the Jura massif.

For Egan Bernal.

Beaten and scored at the top of Puy Mary (13th stage), as in Orcières-Merlette (4th stage), Egan Bernal (Ineos-Grenadiers), the title holder, evolves in the shadow of Primoz Roglic and his Jumbo- Visma.

The Colombian (3rd in the general classification 59 seconds behind Primoz Roglic) will face a new test.

In order not to waste time, maintain the hope of the 3rd week, or to try to resume some to breathe better and switch with a little momentum.

For Tadej Pogacar.

The Slovenian (2nd overall at 44 seconds) has the legs and the desire to attack whenever the terrain and circumstances lend themselves to it.

He says he doesn't want to stop.

And he accompanies his words with significant acts.

Its start-up and its ability to cash in on efforts can find a springboard on this 15th stage.

For Primoz Roglic.

The yellow jersey dominates the Tour.

But the Slovenian does not crush him.

He is not a minute ahead of his main rivals.

Its position is both indisputable and fragile.

Without a new coup, it remains at the mercy of a day without or of a mechanical problem.

Enough to strengthen his vigilance and make the stage a highlight.

For Colombians.

Behind the Slovenian duo Roglic-Pogacar, appear 4 Colombians (Egan Bernal, Rigoberto Uran, Nairo Quintana, Miguel Angel Lopez).

A group shot before a possible alliance between them to doubt, or even overthrow the solid Jumbo-Visma?
