Today, the Turkish parliamentarian, Umar Faruk Cırcıolu confirmed that the numbers of Coronavirus infections inside prisons are increasing significantly, while the Turkish regime is concealing the real numbers so that it is not forced to release the detainees.
The Turkish Zaman newspaper quoted Gergerlioglu as saying that the last announcement of the number of people infected with the virus in prisons was last June, and the information received from there indicates that there are increasing numbers of infected people, pointing out that there are chronic and serious diseases inside prisons and the Corona virus poses a threat to their lives.
He explained that one of the prisoners was transferred to quarantine in a solitary room inside the prison, hours later he was found dead due to his infection with the virus, indicating that there is an imminent danger to the lives of detainees and prisoners.
Turkey recorded 1,509 new infections with the Coronavirus yesterday, bringing the total number of people infected to it to 289,635.
