The Likud territory has been buzzing in recent days around the election for the global Likud presidency, a position that gives control and influence over hundreds of appointments in Zionist institutions - JNF, Jewish Agency, Keren Hayesod and the Zionist Organization. Members of the Likud Center will vote today (Sunday) The manner in which the chairman of the World Likud is elected and the balance of power between the Israeli and international delegates who elect him.

The proposal strengthens the power of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud Center in the division of roles, and weakens the World Likud conference, which also includes representatives of the party's branches abroad. The battles over the World Likud, the umbrella organization of all Likud branches around the world, have been stirring the party for months, centered on the battle between Zohar, supported by Netanyahu, and Hagoel, an associate of former minister and ambassador Danny Danon, who also previously served as Likud chairman. Hagoel has ruled the body for the past decade, while Zohar, Netanyahu and the Likud Center chairman, MK Haim Katz, are interested in weakening their power and independence and taking over their outposts in national institutions.
