"This is an advisory work, due to the expertise of our Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Extortion Directorate worldwide," the Ministry explained.

The commission moved after a request from Paraguay to Colombia.

And he arrived in the country "about five days ago," the Gaula press chief told CNN.

Former Vice President Óscar Denis Sánchez and his assistant were captured by an armed group last Wednesday afternoon in Bella Vista, Amambay department.

The authorities maintain that they do not know with certainty who the authors of the kidnapping of the former vice president are.

However, there are suspicions that it might be the guerrillas of the so-called Paraguayan People's Army (EPP), since they found some pamphlets with their slogans at the place of the kidnapping.

This Friday, Denis's daughters held a press conference and said they received a list of requirements for their father's release.

However, they added that they have not established a direct communication channel with the captors.
