The walls of the Al-Assad and Al-Khanji Galleries for Fine Arts in Aleppo were decorated with more than 100 paintings by Al-Shahba artists, marking the opening of the 2020 Art Exhibition: Between Reality and Dream.

The exhibition presents the aspirations of the artists towards a more beautiful reality, as explained by Ahmed Nassif, head of the Aleppo branch of the Union of Fine Artists, within color relations and various art schools that embodied the artists' wishes for the end of the Corona virus pandemic.

While Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Aleppo Culture, pointed out the importance of this exhibition, which includes a group of creative artists and aims to support the artistic and plastic movement in the city from various art schools.

Fine artist Khaldoun Al-Ahmad found in the exhibition a beautiful artistic gathering of Aleppo artists, as Al-Shahba is an ancient and authentic city rich in all kinds of art.

Plastic artist Salah El-Din Al-Khalidi participated in a painting that embodies the reality we live in under these difficult circumstances, with an optimistic view of a more beautiful reality.

Among the participants in the exhibition, the plastic artist Amani Sawas said: “I liked to express the realistic situation we are living in this year in light of the Corona pandemic, so I embodied hope in the woman’s gaze through my painting with my wishes for the end of this epidemic.”

Through the exhibition, it is possible to notice the predominance of a new character on most of the paintings, which is the influence of artists with the issue of wearing masks and the spatial separation between people in light of the Corona pandemic. Technical.

The plastic artist Naglaa Dalati, participating in the exhibition, stated that she embodied in her painting the belief in the return of conditions as they were and the rebuilding of the new generation despite all circumstances.

A number of attendees confirmed to SANA's correspondence the importance of this exhibition and the diversity of its methods and techniques, so Dr. Yasser Abdel-Rahim spoke about the diversity of schools in the exhibition from surrealism and realism, indicating that each painting is understood according to the position and culture of the recipient.

The young Aladdin Hamami pointed to the importance of the exhibition in returning the public to the artistic and cultural arena and providing an artistic vision of reality through the philosophy of the paintings presented to each artist.
