In the Bouches-du-Rhône as in Gironde, a strengthening of health measures, to fight against the epidemic, was announced on Monday.

"The situation in Marseille is worrying,"

announced Philippe de Mester, director of the regional health agency, during a press conference with the regional prefect, Christophe Mirmand.

The incidence rate exceeded 312 per 100,000, or three times the alert threshold.

Christophe Mirmand and the prefect of police Emmanuel Barbe therefore presented restrictive measures that will apply to Bouches-du-Rhône.

In 27 municipalities, wearing a mask will be compulsory all day (from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.) and everywhere.

For the elderly, a plan of the same type as that provided for during a heat wave, with daily phone call and meal delivery, has been activated.

In nursing homes, only one visit from relatives is authorized per day.

As before, bars and restaurants must close at half past midnight at the latest.

The authorities promise much more frequent administrative closures if these rules are not respected.

Everywhere in Marseille, the sale of alcohol is prohibited after 8 p.m. as well as music on public roads.

Reinforced controls

Various events are also canceled, including the Marseille fair, scheduled from September 25 to October 5.

, deplores Jean-Luc Chauvin, president of the Marseille-Provence CCI, who calls for the immediate establishment of a specific compensation plan for the thousand companies concerned.

“Otherwise, the entire event industry collapses,” he

prophesies.

In Bordeaux and in its metropolis,

"all the signals are red"

The prefect Fabienne Buccio therefore declined a series of measures.

The range of tests will be expanded, with the opening of new centers, in particular for priority people or contact cases.

In the public sphere, the gauge for events and meetings has increased from 5,000 to 1,000 people, fairground and flea market type events will not be authorized and European Heritage Days are canceled in the Bordeaux metropolis.

A bar controlled in the evening may be closed the next day

The Prefect

In bars and restaurants, standing consumption is now prohibited and controls will be tightened.

"A bar checked in violation in the evening could be closed the next day,"

warned the prefect.

Gatherings of more than 10 people in parks, gardens, but also on the quays of Bordeaux, very crowded in these times of heat wave, are prohibited, as well as the consumption of alcohol on public roads.

Controls and verbalizations will be increased, a CRS company will be seconded to Bordeaux in the coming days for this purpose.

Student parties prevented, sports locker rooms closed or even suspended school trips are also part of the set of restrictive measures.

In nursing homes, which bring together 15 of the 57 identified clusters, visits are limited to two people per week and per resident.

And the number of buses in circulation will soon be increased to prevent them from being too congested.

But the authorities have especially insisted on private events, which must now bring together 10 people maximum.

Sports events without spectators are permitted.

Bars and restaurants will no longer be able to welcome the public after 10 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
