Dubai police have arrested a man who danced "immodestly" and was documented in a local cafe in a video circulated on social media and he was charged with "committing an immodest act in public".

According to the Saudi Al-Arabiya network, Dubai is known for a lighter approach to clubs and bars than its other Gulf neighbors, but under UAE law, anyone who commits an "immodest and shameful act" can be sent to up to six months in prison.



In addition, Dubai police said they had arrested the "photographer" on charges of "posting content on the web that harms public morale".

According to cyber laws, the penalty for such an offense is up to one million dirhams - about NIS 935,000.

Also, the cafe where the video was filmed was closed and its owners were fined for violating the restrictions imposed for the fight in Corona.
