The Damascus Culture Directorate honored the plastic artist, Leila Razzouq, through a group exhibition that included artworks of 60 Syrian plastic artists, in addition to a seminar on the march of the artist Razzouk, at the Cultural Center of Kfarsousa.

The exhibition featured more than 60 paintings and sculptures of various techniques, artistic styles, themes and sizes that reflected the diverse experiences of participants of different ages and artistic trends.

Regarding the honor, plastic artist Laila said in a statement to SANA: “This initiative indicates the presence of individuals who appreciate the artistic effort that I have made in the world of plastic art throughout my life, using my innate talent throughout the stations of my career and my work as a teacher of science for more than 37 years, which helped me to develop my artistic personality. “.

The artist participated with two new paintings in the exhibition for the first time, the first expressing feelings of joy in the purification of her village of Suqaylabiyah from terrorism, and the second representing the forest fire and its negative impact on herself.

In turn, artist and plastic critic Adeeb Makhzoum, organizer of the event and participant in the symposium, said, “I personally sought to celebrate the veteran artist, Laila, under the auspices of the Damascus Culture Directorate for the importance of the artist’s experience in the fields of sculpture and drawing, being the only one that brought together specialists throughout her artistic career,” indicating that the exhibition included various segments of the departed and veteran Reaching out to young people, with the aim of providing new artists with experience and creating dialogue among the participants.

The seminar moderated by the media Ilham Sultan, during which researcher Dr. Ali Al-Qayyim explained that “honoring the artist Laila is a celebration of plastic art and creativity, and an affirmation that a person is capable of artistic creativity even without academic competence thanks to diligence, experimentation and tender, with his knowledge of the heritage of his homeland,” pointing out that the honorable artist is a march She presented a wide range of works in the spirit of the abyss, with a realistic style, a delicate feeling and an insightful vision, expressing the originality and splendor of the Syrian heritage.

As for the plastic artist, Lina Deeb, who also participated in the symposium, she explained that the artist Laila has a long history in the Syrian plastic movement and the various tenders began with drawing and sculpture and finally with the fashion design that she studied and practiced with her love for realistic style and her practice with it, taking advantage of the heritage symbols in her village, which she formulated in a special style to enrich her experience. Artistic in beautiful harmony.
