In the Münchner Straße in Dachau, changes are pending in terms of business life.

Some businesses are closing, but Isabel Seeber, chairwoman of the trade association “Dachau trades” and the local branch of the Confederation of Self-Employed Persons (BDS), assures that there will be “absolutely” no vacancies!

Dachau

- Georg and Monika Treybl's fruit and vegetable stand in the pavilion next to the Sparda-Bank closes after 35 years because the Treybls are going into well-deserved retirement (more on this here).

The “Patchouli” has clearance sale, the ice cream parlor “Riviera” closes its doors after almost 40 years due to family reasons in Dachau.

Schuhmode Hablitzel was hit hard by the corona pandemic and online retail, says Petra Hablitzel, justifying the closure of her traditional Dachau company.

And the former fashion store on the corner of Münchner Strasse and Sparkassenplatz is still empty.

So is there a threat of vacancy, a sell-out of the popular Dachau shopping mile?

Is Dachau threatened with a fate similar to that of many small towns in which more and more small shops are closing down and customers are staying away?

Isabel Seeber, chairwoman of the trade association "Dachau acts", but confidently.

The owner of the candisserie knows from reliable sources that all shops should be seamlessly filled with life again.

Seeber is also on the board of the German Confectionery Association and knows the situation in other regions.

"Nowhere else is there such a lively togetherness as in Dachau," enthuses the Dachau businesswoman, who brought her candisserie in the Hundertwasserhaus on Münchner Strasse and the studio in Schleißheimer Strasse through the Corona crisis well.

Isabel Seeber did not lay off any of her 16 employees.

Everyone stuck together and mastered the crisis so far.

However, the upcoming Christmas business will now point the way.

"I have the impression that the shops that have got involved in the Corona crisis are doing really well," Seeber assesses the situation of her colleagues.

And whoever opens or expands a new business now shows entrepreneurial spirit, emphasizes the candisserie boss.

But she herself is positive about the future.
