A manhunt was taking place Monday in the Los Angeles area to find a gunman who seriously injured two police officers sitting in their service car, a suspect described as a
"wild beast"
by Donald Trump.
A bonus of $ 100,000 is offered for any information allowing the location of the assailant that a video, recorded on Saturday by a surveillance camera, shows approaching the patrol vehicle on foot and then opening fire in cold blood.
The two officers, a man and a woman aged 24 and 31 respectively, were seriously hit by several bullets, including in the face, and hospitalized.
They should survive their injuries.
"Fortunately, the vital organs were not affected,"
Los Angeles Sheriff Alex Villanueva told local radio.

The suspect has been identified as a black man between the ages of 28 and 30, wearing dark colored clothing.
This double attempted murder, which took place in the town of Compton, known for its high crime rate and the tensions between the police and the black population, takes on particular relief in the current climate of tension around the police.
Many Republicans pose as the sole supporters of the police and accuse Democrats of waging an opposing campaign by denouncing the abuses suffered by African Americans.
Reacting quickly, the Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, condemned an
"unspeakable"
attack
and wished that its author be brought to justice.
President Donald Trump went further, suggesting capital punishment for the gunman in case the police were to die.

Sheriff Villanueva, for his part, was indignant at the presence of demonstrators, who came Saturday evening in front of the hospital where the two injured police officers had been admitted and who allegedly tried to force their way into the emergency department.

he said.
