Thousands of people stand on the Theresienwiese in the sweltering afternoon heat.
Some wear traditional costumes - and almost no one wear a mask.
That's the program, because what you see here is the rally of the lateral thinker movement.
At the Anti-Corona * demo in Munich, 10,000 of the “lateral thinking 089” group followed on the Theresienwiese.
The well-known former TV priest
Jürgen Fliege also
spoke on stage.
"We have to take care of each other in the pandemic by wearing masks," says a participant in the counter demo.
Munich - The highly controversial demonstration against the Corona restrictions on Saturday, which was partially banned or legally shrunk in advance - and which then took place on the Theresienwiese with around 10,000 people in the end.
TV priest on stage at the anti-corona demo
On stage: among others
Jürgen Fliege
(73), known as a former TV pastor * with his own ARD talk show.
His ten-minute speech seemed like a sermon - among other things with references to the Bible to the sentence “Do not be afraid”.
These words always accompanied the appearances of angels.
Now in the Corona times, according to Fliege, one does not hear from the government in Berlin, however, “Don't be afraid” - “even if your name is Angela…” Before Fliege spoke among other lateral thinkers founder Michael Ballweg.
His speech did not last long - the police interrupted the event.
Her loudspeaker announcements that one should wear a mask were booed.
Background: Since Wednesday, the
mask has been
mandatory
in Bavaria
for
events of 200 people or more
.
This also applies to the demo that was explicitly directed against the mask requirement.
The organizers referred to exceptions, a woman on the stage said she was a doctor and could issue certificates - "who needs one ..." So it went back and forth for a while until the police established personal details and issued evictions.
The police
not only recorded over 120 reports
at the
Corona demo
on Saturday
.
As a spokesman announced, there were also
several arrests *
.
Many of the participants at the gathering are currently not wearing mouth and nose protection.
We will address these people and, depending on the situation, they will be reported for an administrative offense.

5000 demonstrators were originally registered, 1000 were approved - but the number actually became five-digit.
The event was largely peaceful, and the Reich flags - as they waved in Berlin - could not be seen.
The police had previously stopped a demo train that started at Odeonsplatz in Gabelsbergerstrasse.
Again, almost no one wore a mask.
In addition, instead of the approved 500, around 3000 people were there.
At around 2 p.m. the meeting leader disbanded the train.
The demo was preceded by a legal battle.
Only on Saturday night did the Administrative Court allow the train for 500 people and completely lifted the restriction on the number of participants at the Oktoberfest.
Did a doctor issue false certificates on Theresienwiese?
Police are investigating
In addition to the discussion about the mask requirement (coronavirus: which masks protect us best in everyday life *), the stage also spoke of a division in society and called for the immunity of Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) to be lifted.
After the police pointed out to a few people that a mask was required, in the end the majority stuck to it.
Over
100 stubborn objecters received advertisements
.
Over 20 others were reported for other reasons, such as
assault
.
The Federal Police also reported 45 reports at the train stations for
violations of the Infection Protection Act
- 44 of them on suspicion of submitting false certificates.
According to the police, there are also indications that a doctor issued false certificates on Theresienwiese.
In Munich, however, an important corona limit value * threatens to be exceeded.

That's what protesters say
The lockdown was excessive.
Right from the start, I dealt intensively with the infection numbers at the Robert Koch Institute - and they have declined after a short time.
The doubling number wasn't so high that the length of the lockdown could have been justified.
What we are told does not correspond to the correct numbers.

(Editor's note: Here you can find information about the
coronavirus: What does the number of reproductions mean for the spread?)
The Sars-CoV-2 virus * is in fact no longer in circulation with us - these are only rhinoviruses and older corona viruses.
There are highly qualified people who deal with the topic - and they are called Covidiotes.
What worries us is a vaccine that hasn't been tested enough.
Claudia E. (49), business economist, and Barbara B. (81), doctor, from Munich
The press is too unanimous in its opinion.
Thousands of people demonstrated peacefully in Berlin - and then it was all about storming the Reichstag.
We are not all right-wing extremists.
In my opinion, there are economic interests behind the corona crisis.
The digital corporations, for example, benefit.
We are being deprived of our freedom for this.

Munich: That's how the counter-protest went
At the counter-event to the lateral thinker campaign, around 900 participants came to Goetheplatz on Saturday afternoon.
Motto:
“Solidarity instead of conspiracy madness!”
A broad alliance of Munich organizations called for this - including
Munich is colorful
, the
refugee council
and the
district youth council
.
Originally, the demo was planned at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz, but after the Corona demo was moved from Odeonsplatz to Theresienwiese, the counter-protest also moved.
According to the police, the infection protection requirements were largely complied with there.
"
Because of the pandemic, we have to take care of each other by wearing a mask,
" says student Jule Meier (25).
“That is really important - and not the ludicrous concern about compulsory vaccination, which doesn’t come anyway!” Bernhard F. (25), also a Munich student, sees it similarly: “Unfortunately there are many gullible people who refer to crazy Facebook sources .
It is these corona demos that actually endanger our freedom, because right-wing extremists are also involved! "
A few dozen counter-demonstrators - according to the police "from the left spectrum" - also gathered on the edge of Theresienwiese with banners against anti-Semitism and right-wing extremism.
