The MTR spokesperson stated that after learning about the situation, engineers have been arranged to remove the relevant processor and inspect all Octopus processors of the same type at Light Rail stations to ensure that other Octopus processors are operating normally, and will also follow up and strengthen inspections program.
The incident does not affect passengers who use the enhanced version of All-Month Pass and West Rail interchange discounts.
Among the 1,180 people affected by the company's assessment, the undeducted fare concessions involved in each journey ranged from HK$40 to 1.1.
