For years, with discretion and utter seriousness, they have been flying to distant cities, talking on the phone around the clock, and working on the final details of the peace agreement.

Today, with God's help, we will see Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Foreign Ministers of the Emirates and Bahrain shaking hands on the White House lawn, and officially marking the peace agreement - alongside the main mediator, President Donald Trump.

This day will be spectacular, a historic day, a day of high rhetoric, powerful characters and bright headlines in the newspaper.

But the road to this ceremony in the White House was paved by people of a completely different kind, who contributed to the creation of this historic day in a different way.

These emissaries - Jared Kushner, David Friedman, and Avi ("Abraham") Berkowitz on the American side, and Yossi Cohen, Ron Drummer and Meir Ben Shabbat on the Israeli side - are the quiet people of diplomacy.

For years, with discretion and utter seriousness, they have been flying to distant cities, talking on the phone around the clock, and working on the final details of the peace agreement.

If the ceremony in the White House will be the diamond in the crown, then they designed the crown itself.

Today, then, is the day when we must congratulate these public messengers, their tireless work, and their refusal to appropriate the achievement for themselves.

Their dedication and discretion in which they acted was inspiring, especially at a time when too many senior government officials were undermining the elected leaders they had previously served.

Welcome, dear gentlemen, and thank you!

You earned your place in history ... even though you never asked for it.
