The tropical depression Hongxia has intensified into a tropical storm.

At 5 o'clock in the morning, Hongxia gathered about 780 kilometers southeast of Xisha, and was expected to move west-northwest at a speed of about 15 kilometers per hour, crossing the central and southern South China Sea and gradually strengthening.

Showers are affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong; in addition, the high-altitude anticyclone covering southeastern China is strengthening.

Today, Hong Kong is mainly cloudy with a few showers. At first there were thunderstorms in some areas. There were sunny periods during the day and the highest temperature was about 32 degrees.
