Talented children who chose the color as a friend, found in the lobbies of the National Center for Visual Arts a hug that embraces their talents through an exhibition that was the result of a constructive partnership between the center and the studio of "passion".

The exhibition, in which 120 children from 4 years of age to 18 participated, included various art formations from "Drawing, Sculpture and Graphics", a summary of what the children learned during specialized workshops at the center.

Father Elias Zahlawi, upon his visit to the exhibition, told SANA about the importance of investing in the child, saying, “Some of our societies still do not value the child and his capabilities, although it will be our future for all and we need in our homes to establish respect for the child's talents and push him to achieve himself,” expressing his happiness at the exhibition And what he saw of children's artworks with their innocent touches and bright colors, recalling what he had mentioned in the past about the treasures that the youth and childhood in Syria possessed of riches of life and abilities that needed to be discovered and respected and given them the opportunity to discover themselves and be happy with their achievements.

Dr. Ghayath Al-Akhras, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center, expressed his admiration for the way the supervisors of plastic artists deal with children because they possess the skill of positive psychological communication with them and their work on reading the child's psyche and the mechanism for dealing with parents in that together, pointing out that the center provided all the tools and supplies for children and the necessary preventive measures during Corona pandemic because children and youth are our future, and this is what the center is working on continuously.

The director of the “passion” studio, Reem Al-Hayek, explained that the joint workshops with the center have been launched since 2018, as each workshop carried a different title, indicating that the title of this workshop is the child's mental health, as the focus was on what is lacking and what is hidden inside of it and lighting up the beautiful situations in his life to help children To develop their tools and improve their psychological state, as well as refine their personality and visual culture.

Fine artist Rawan Odeh, "a drawing teacher in the workshop", indicated that work has been done to instill values ​​in children and translate their dreams and aspirations in an attempt to blend the professional and emotional sides.

7-year-old Maya Ismail, a 7-year-old girl, embodied her painting in newspaper-style graphics with a photograph that tells the story of an informatics teacher, while Sila El Hassan, 7 years old, drew nature for her intense love for her by drawing a forest of trees and flowers and chose to put horses in it. As for Yana, 10 years old, her painting was represented The sea and beach details and chose bright colors that inspire hope and joy.

Ahlam Abbas, the mother of the two children, Qusay and Naya Bodour, talked about the development of her children's performance and their mastery of their techniques in the field of drawing, pointing to the interest of the supervisors and those in charge of the workshops and their dealings in particular with children.

The "Shaghaf" studio is a special youth initiative that welcomes children of different ages and teaches them the skills of drawing and sculpture. The National Center for Visual Arts includes a large exhibition hall for plastic arts with another hall for holding workshops for the arts of painting, sculpture and printed engraving, in addition to a theater that can accommodate about a thousand visitors.
