Voluntary Fire Brigade has a new top management: Fabian Fiegler takes over the position of First Commandant, Markus Liebhart becomes his deputy.

The new elections on Friday evening were necessary because the previous First Commandant Robert Schmid, as reported, has been promoted to District Fire Inspector North.

Fiegler, who originally comes from Tegernsee, was already the second in command of the fire brigade in Gmund.

Last year he moved to Dietramszell and joined the local army in November.

The 42-year-old has been working at the State Fire Brigade School Geretsried (SFSG) as the technical department manager since 2010.

When the appointment of Schmid, who had led the Dietramszeller Wehr for 26 years, as district fire inspector became apparent, there was no question that Fiegler would be available for the office.

"I've been involved in the fire brigade for 27 years - and if the team wants me, I'm ready," he said before the election in an interview with our newspaper.

And the team wanted: They expressed their confidence in Fiegler.

A lot of work awaits the new commander in the next few years.

“I am also the lead commander in our community area.” This task includes the procurement of protective clothing and vehicles for the Dietramszeller weirs as well as issues relating to the tool sheds.

And: "I would like to focus on the cooperation of all community fire departments and thus also strengthen it."

His deputy also has the same concern.

The 38-year-old Liebhart, who has been part of the Dietramszeller Wehr since he was 14 years old, wants "the trust of fellow fire fighters".

And: "We will always have an open ear for you," he promised.

Mayor Josef Hauser congratulated the new top management, but also once again emphasized the services of the outgoing commanding officer.

District fire chief Erich Zengerle put it similarly.

“An era is coming to an end here.

Taking responsibility for such a long time is not a matter of course these days. "
