The Domaine des Vanneaux hotel in Presles, the expert opinion of Le Figaro

2020-09-15T04:38:12.724Z

Facing L'Isle-Adam golf course, in Val-d'Oise, this 4-star designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte has become one of the ideal addresses to escape the Parisian bustle for a weekend. .

9/10 for the Domaine des Vanneaux

The Domaine des Vanneaux has all the assets to seduce the addicts of the little white ball.

Forty minutes from the capital and a stone's throw from the impressionist city of Auvers-sur-Oise, this MGallery hotel is located at the foot of the 18-hole L'Isle-Adam, a championship course by Ronald Fream, open since 1992. At the time, Jean-Michel Wilmotte had decorated his clubhouse, housed in an old farmhouse, which immediately put this golf course in the spotlight.

In less than a year, the hotel has become a must.

It has two restaurants, gourmet and bistronomic, driven by Pierre Meneau - son of Marc, former 3 stars in the Michelin Guide - a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and a spa giving pride of place to ethical and organic products.

8/10 The situation

The town of Presles is located to the north of Val-d'Oise, not far from the border with Picardy.

The fastest trains connect Paris-Gare-du-Nord to Presles-Courcelles station in 37 minutes.

The hotel is located away from the village, opposite the entrance to L'Isle-Adam golf course, perfectly peaceful.

9/10 The decor

Here the decoration is minimalist.

Jean-Michel Wilmotte designed this hotel as a traditional farmhouse, in a square, centered on a large and beautiful central green courtyard.

Everything is in the fleeting lines, horizontal or vertical, which give lightness to the structure.

The reception hall is marked by two lounges each oriented towards a small fireplace, itself nested in a high slate wall.

A long, sheltered corridor leads to the outdoor swimming pool, the bedrooms and the spa.

Everything is free of heaviness, the whole is fluid and modern.

Only a few iron tables and chairs, as well as a few plants displayed on large wooden pillars, break the pure lines.

    9/10 The bedrooms

67 rooms and suites are spread over two wings of the establishment.

Some are oriented towards the exterior, the golf course or the neighboring woods.

Others have a view of the tree-lined patio and have a private terrace that allows you to enjoy the tranquility of the place.

The 123, ours, is one of them.

The light colors and the opening onto the patio make it a bright room in which you immediately feel good.

The bed and the desk face the bay window which opens onto the outside.

The bathroom is in a side recess which guarantees complete privacy.

Cinq Mondes care products, bathrobes, slippers and a coffee machine complete the facilities.

    8/10 Services and equipment

The Domaine des Vanneaux spa covers 250 square meters.

A fitness room allows you to play sports while admiring nature.

A jacuzzi is hollowed out at the foot of a fireplace, in an impressive room with paneled walls that can be privatized.

In addition to the sauna and hammam, three massage cabins allow you to receive treatments administered with Cinq Mondes or Bio Vive products.

The “Flight over the green” (165 €) or “The spirit of Presles” (from 53 €) are part of the signature treatments of the house.

Finally, L'Isle-Adam golf course, of which the hotel is a partner, has a technical 18-hole course stretching over six kilometers.

It is designed by the Californian architect Ronald Fream.

9/10 At the table and at the bar

The two hotel restaurants are managed simultaneously by Pierre Meneau.

This young chef, trained among others by his father, who was a triple Michelin star, is asserting his own ideas here.

Le Piaf brings together the hotel bar and a bistro table ideal for a relaxed dinner.

You can enjoy a fondant of breaded and truffled suckling pig (16 €) or a sea bass on spelled risotto (24 €).

Opposite him, La Plume is a truly gourmet restaurant.

The products are directly selected from the producers.

There is no menu here, but two “discovery” menus (€ 90 or € 120 excluding wines) which change according to the seasons, arrivals, and the chef's inspiration.

    9/10 The price-quality ratio

In low season it is necessary to count from 191 € per night.

This rate rises to € 223 in high season in this establishment at rather respectable prices for an address near Paris where you can enjoy a break of calm in the countryside.
