South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravensburg
The Attorney General of the State of South Dakota, Jason Ravensburg, is being investigated for involvement in a fatal car accident.
This was after he reported that he had hit a deer, but later a human body was discovered in the arena.
The 44-year-old Attorney General told police he hit a deer while driving home to Republican Party fundraising conferences Saturday night, but when he returned to the scene the next day, he found 55-year-old Joseph Bower lifeless.
Bower's family has expressed concern that this is an attempted rendering of a hit-and-run accident on the part of Ravensburg.
According to her, the investigators contacted her to identify the body only 22 hours after it was discovered.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said the investigation would be conducted "like any other lethal investigation."

According to the state's attorney general, he called police immediately after the accident, which occurred in a rural part of Highway No. 14. He said he stopped the vehicle and used a flashlight on his phone due to the darkness, but he saw nothing but damage to his car.
He claimed he thought he had hit a large animal.
Ravensburg added that he was cooperating with the investigation, and expressed his "deepest" condolences to Bower's family.
