Ankara-Sana

The former economy minister in the Turkish regime, now head of the Democracy and Progress Party, Ali Babacan, has warned that the policies pursued by Recep Tayyip Erdogan will drag the country into worse days.

The Turkish "Zaman" newspaper quoted Babacan as saying that the economic situation continues to deteriorate day after day even before the start of the Corona epidemic crisis, explaining that Turkey needs a medium-term program for a period of three years in order to be able to get out of the economic crisis it is going through.

Babacan stressed the need to urgently provide the state’s needs of foreign currencies through special resources and the market, and to follow rational policies, otherwise the Turkish lira will lose the remainder of its value and we will witness worse days, noting that even if Turkey obtains a $ 10 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund, it will not This brings the economy back to its early days.

The Turkish Central Bank had recorded a total deficit of about 21 billion dollars from foreign exchange reserves, and the current transactions account recorded a deficit during July 2020 of one billion and 817 million dollars after it recorded a surplus of one billion and 990 million dollars in the same month of last year.
