Joe Biden makes music: during his first campaign appearance in the state of Florida, where the polls predict a head-to-head race between Biden and Trump, the first thing the US Democrat will do is pull out his cell phone and start the Spanish-language song "Despacito". "

"Well, please! Dance a little."

"Tell you what, if I had the talent of any of these people, I'd win the election by applause."

In Latin America, "Despacito" from 2017 is one of the most successful songs of all time, song producer Luis Fonsi had previously announced Biden on stage.

The somewhat stiff dance routine and the closeness to the musician should be a signal to the important group of Latino voters in Florida.

They make up about 20 percent of the Sunshine State's electorate.

Joe Biden, US Democratic presidential candidate

"Latino voters, especially here in Florida, can help move our nation forward. There are 49 days to election, I ask for your vote. I will work hard every day to get it."

Biden's dance performance became a hit on social media.

Donald Trump meanwhile distributed a manipulated version of the video in which the protest song "Fuck tha Police" by the black gangsta rap crew NWA from 1988 is played instead of "Despacito".

On Wednesday, Twitter then provided the video with a warning that it had been manipulated.

But Trump is also fighting for voters with Latin American roots: When he appeared in Florida on Monday, however, his advances seemed rather clumsy compared to Biden.

US President, Donald Trump

"It's really wonderful, you are wonderful people. And I love you and we take care of you and I will never let you down."

Neither Biden nor Trump are particularly popular with the Latino community - they are almost on par in polls.

Since a very close result is expected overall in Swing State Florida, these votes could even decide the election in the end.
