Iran's permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Majid Takht Rawanji, warned the United States against launching any adventure against his country, stressing that it would not hesitate for a single moment in the legitimate defense of its people, its land and its interests.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the International Organization, Takht Rawangi considered that the recent threats of US President Donald Trump against Iran constitute “a violation of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations that explicitly prohibit the threat or use of force,” calling on the UN Security Council to force America to stop its threats and all its illegal measures and policies. Irresponsible.
It is noteworthy that Trump said in two tweets based on an alleged report by the Politico website that Iran was planning to assassinate the US ambassador to South Africa in response to the assassination of the martyr commander Qassem Soleimani in a US raid in Iraq early this year.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif responded to these allegations by saying that "US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is trying to mislead Trump with false warnings."
