MAN: There is growing unrest among the workforce
Internally, too, the group has so far largely kept a low profile.
As a result, there is
growing unrest
at the German
MAN
locations.
Many employees are “totally insecure,” it is said from Nuremberg, for example.
The workforce is "in a state of excitement".
The mood at the main plant in Munich is also "catastrophic".

Internally, the CEO of
MAN Truck & Bus
, who has been in office since July, had
painted a gloomy picture of the current economic situation.
MAN
is "in a very difficult situation".

MAN
slipped deep into the red in the first half of the year.
In operational terms, the company posted a loss of 387 million euros from January to June.
In the same period of the previous year,
MAN
had
earned 253 million euros operationally.
In view of the plans, the works council has already announced massive resistance.
"It cannot be that job cuts and site
closings
are the only solutions that the board can think of," said Group works council chief
Saki Stimoniaris
.
These are "management concepts from deep down out of the moth box."
How many positions will actually be lost at the respective locations is still completely open.
First the group has to negotiate with the works council.
The corresponding discussions could start in the next few days.
