The first of two Alitalia flights departed at lunchtime from Fiumicino airport

, scheduled on an experimental basis on the Rome - Milan Linate route,

with only passengers who tested negative for Covid-19 on board.

Thirty-three people boarded the Az2038 flight at 1.30pm (active every day of the week).

The second flight, the Az2092 at 17.30 (active from Monday to Friday).

The "One ticket, one tampon" initiative,

the aim of which is to initiate a path to revive traffic and, more generally, to strengthen the confidence of travelers in the aircraft for which adequate measures have been taken to defense of health, as was done in airports and in particular in Fiumicino, is the result of the collaboration between Alitalia, Rome Airports and the Lazio Region.

To document the negativity to the virus, a specific preventive screening with a rapid antigen test carried out in the 72 hours prior to departure at the drive-in, the largest in Italy, set up by Adr in operation since last September 1st at the Lunga Sosta del Leonardo da Vinci or, alternatively, the same day before boarding at the health center located at the Arrivals of Terminal 3 managed by the doctors of Usmaf / Asl / Uscar.

In both structures a preferential lane has been set up for travelers on the two flights to Milan, in order to reduce test times and board the plane quickly, as well as in the highest safety.

To board the two flights being tested, which like the others in the Alitalia fleet are equipped with Hepa filters that allow a complete change of air in the cabin every 2-3 minutes, making it 99.7% pure as in a hall sterile, it is also possible to present a negative result certification from a molecular swab (PCR test) or antigenic as long as it was carried out three days before departure.

On the other hand, passengers with only serological test certification are not allowed to board.

Depending on the findings obtained, at a later stage - it is emphasized by the promoters of the initiative - this proposal could be extended to other flights with particular reference to international and intercontinental connections to and from origins with epidemiological situations of greater attention or for which, in the absence of prior screening or other special precautionary measures, fiduciary isolation obligations or other restrictions currently apply.
