“The parking spaces are definitely history,” replied Susanne Leonhard, head of the building authority.
It does not matter whether the 1.50 meter wide protective strip remains or is removed again.
“There is definitely no parking space,” says Leonhard.
As in a conversation with our newspaper, the building authority manager explained that parking spaces directly at the level crossing had been blocked, “because this is the only way to ensure that traffic does not jam up on the tracks if someone tries to enter or exit these parking spaces unpark ".
According to the building authority manager, additional parking spaces out of town had been on the cross-off list of the district authority and the state building authority for a long time, “because the situation at the intersection with Moosbauerweg must be defused”.
This requires an enlargement of the so-called viewing triangle.
And: The parking spaces between the Rosen pharmacy and the Aral petrol station should never have been used as such; strictly speaking, drivers would always have parked their cars on the sidewalk.
Criticism of the city's information policy
In this context, Leonhard recalled the development of the Kraft area east of the S-Bahn station.
The preparatory work is under way, the hot phase will begin in spring 2021, according to the head of the building department. With the development, the city council decided "to widen Sauerlacher Straße," said Leonhard.
