On March 17, everything was installed in the display cases, under the Great Gallery of Evolution of the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN), for the “Precious Stones” exhibition which was to open a few days later.
Containment obliges, the museum has closed its doors, and the teams have stored in a safe place the 500 minerals and stones taken out for the occasion from the reserves or lent by other institutions, as well as the 200 jewelry creations of Van Cleef & Arpels, partner of the event.

Six months later, almost to the day, this false start is just a bad memory.
The event exhibition, which opens to the public today, has been rescheduled as quickly as possible.

The idea of“ Precious Stones ”is to create a dialogue between three universes that are close but rarely exhibited together, mineralogy, gemology and jewelry.
