The Ministry of Education announced tonight (Wednesday) the distance learning program that will begin tomorrow.

While the parents called for not distance learning in the lower age groups because it is ineffective, and demanded that the days be returned in full upon return to routine and holidays - Education Minister Yoav Galant and the ministry's pedagogical officials insisted on intensive distance learning in these classes.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Education published the outline of distance learning, according to which learning will take place in kindergartens for at least six days a week.

The Ministry of Education says that this is a 20-minute daily meeting.

Zoom classes in kindergartens mean that they are considered working days of kindergarten teachers, and so after the closure ends the teachers' union will refuse to return school days - as happened in the first wave.

In this situation, students and parents do not receive effective learning and a framework during or after the closure - when they will have to return to work.

In recent days, a real revolt has begun among kindergartens around the country that refuse to lend a hand to distance learning in kindergartens - after the National Kindergarten Committee called on parents not to cooperate with the distance learning outline and not to take part in zooming.

"It will be clarified that the call not to cooperate with distance learning was made due to the fact that the distance learning efficiency during the first closure was minimal, with many kindergartens not given distance learning at all and others very little," wrote Ahaz Agam, co-chair of the National Kindergarten Committee.

Agam added: "The effects of distance learning and the children's difficulty cooperating with it were also a significant consideration for calling for protest. It should be added that many staff women also said they could not have regular distance learning when they had to take care of their children at home."

As for the distance learning outline, elementary schools require teachers to teach five days a week, Sunday through Thursday.

Recall, this without frontal learning in the classrooms as it has been so far.

Many parents said that learning is not effective at all and creates huge gaps.

As for the upper elementary classes, students will study for 6-5 days according to the school decision.

The Ministry of Education stated: "As the closure lengthens, the scope of self-learning should be increased and students should be encouraged to work independently and accompany it."

This means that students are required to study completely alone, without the teachers - which can lead to gaps between students from educated homes who can be helped by parents and those who are not.
