PowerZ.
The name doesn't mean anything to you, and for good reason: the game has not yet launched.
But it is a game like no other, closer to the virtual school, in which children learn while having fun.
The project is led by a group of enthusiasts, headed by Emmanuel Freund, co-founder of Shadow, who is embarking on a new adventure.
Imagine a video game in which children go through levels, by winning races, by discovering treasures, or by having learned fundamental concepts in mathematics, French, by going to discover parts of history, by learning vocabulary. And to earn additional points, they would have to read a book, watch a documentary, or even visit a museum or monument virtually or in real life.
PowerZ has neither more nor less the ambition to become the biggest school in the world.
Without walls, but not without teachers.
Education professionals are involved in this crazy project.
PowerZ is aimed primarily at children aged 5 to 12, but hoping to appeal to a wider audience.
"
As with animated films, we target children, but parents must like it
", sums up Emmanuel Freund.
3 million euros in fundraising
The idea has already attracted investors from various backgrounds who have brought it three million euros.
The round table brought together experienced entrepreneurs (Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet, Michaël Benabou, Octave Klaba), the EduCapital fund, the publisher Hachette Livre and influencers, such as Domingo.
"
Convinced of the ambition and relevance of PowerZ, Hachette Livre made the
choice to invest for the first time in a company from its creation", explains Arnaud Nourry, CEO of Hachette Livre.
Emmanuel Freund believes he can launch a first version of his game in January.
Convinced that his idea can change the world of education and bring knowledge to as many people as possible, he has only one regret: not having thought about it before to help parents during confinement.
