PM talks in closed talks: The agreements left Ramallah no choice, discussed on the basis of the Trump plan • Ashkenazi congratulated his colleagues in the Emirates and Bahrain, who replied: "Happy New Year"
Prime Minister Netanyahu estimates:
The Palestinian Authority will return to negotiations with Israel shortly.
In a closed conversation, Netanyahu explained that the peace agreements between Israel and the Emirates and Bahrain, and their regional significance, leave the Palestinians no choice but to return to the negotiating table.

However, the prime minister estimated that this would happen after the US election, in about seven weeks and on the condition that President Trump does win them.
He added that if that happened, he would open negotiations with them on the basis of the Trump plan, as he had promised.
Meanwhile, relations between Israel and the two Gulf states are advancing rapidly.
Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi sent personal messages to the Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, and wrote: "My dear friend, on the occasion of the Hebrew Rosh Hashanah, I would like to wish you and your people a full year of peace, prosperity, stability and health!
The Emirates' foreign minister replied: "Happy Rosh Hashanah, Gabi, this is a wonderful way to open the year and I hope it is a good sign for both of us, Abdullah."
Minister Ashkenazi's Bahraini colleague wrote to him: "Thank you, my dear friend, for the greeting for Rosh Hashanah Hebrew.
I was wrong.
I was wrong.

At the same time, a video from 2016 was circulated on social media yesterday, in which the Secretary of State in the Obama administration, John Kerry, claims that there will be no progress by Israel vis-à-vis Arab states, without an agreement with the Palestinians.
"There will be no separate peace between Israel and the Arab world, I want to emphasize this clearly," Kerry said in the archival section, which has not really aged well.
"I have heard some leading politicians in Israel say, 'Well, the Arab world is somewhere else now, we just have to reach out to them. We can move forward with the Arab world, and then we will deal with the Palestinian level.' No, no, no and no! "Peace with the Palestinians. Everyone needs to understand that."
