Guillaume Peltier: "The right must defend common sense"

2020-09-17T19:17:03.276Z

On the eve of his political return, the deputy for Loir-et-Cher tackles the “far left” Greens and pleads for a non-punitive ecology

Deputy Vice-President of the Les Républicains party and deputy for Loir-et-Cher, Guillaume Peltier is organizing the "violet festival", his political return, in Sologne this Saturday.

Future of the right, regional, ecology: he confided in the Parisian.

The right has already multiplied its re-entry events.

What is the use of organizing yours?

GUILLAUME PELTIER.

About 1000 young people in Port-Marly (Yvelines) for our common return, it was a success and that deserved by Christian Jacob.

At the same time, we organize major regional festivals in our provinces.

The “violet festival” will bring together more than 800 people, including around 100 mayors from the region, around our guest of honor: Jean-Louis Borloo, symbol of popular France.

Basically, this celebration will be that of common sense.

"Common sense" means everything and nothing ...

Common sense, said Bergson, is correctness in observation and justice in action.

Enarques like ideologues have neither.

The role of the right is to defend common sense, to free oneself from single thought and to say what the French see.

Nothing is going well and everything is going off!

Just look at the debt, the deficit, unemployment, insecurity, employment ...

Jean-Louis Borloo is your guest of honor while the right now appears dumped on ecology.

How to cure it ?

At a time when the extremists claim to ban the car on Monday, hunting on Tuesday, the Tour de France on Wednesday, Christmas trees on Thursday, we need a popular ecology that is not punitive.

I offer 0% VAT for direct sales for all our farmers, for the thermal renovation of private housing and for public transport.

We could also impose a contribution from the motorway companies to the tune of one billion euros to finance, via the departments and municipalities, the acquisition of a clean vehicle, hydrogen or electric, by the middle classes.

More common sense.

Your application to the Center-Val de Loire region is an open secret.

How do you hope to beat the left there?

I will make my decision in October.

The region has been managed by the socialist and green majority for 23 years, and has been at the bottom of the economic, social and medical rankings.

With us, there is a cultural fight between on the one hand the Greens of the extreme left, who have won the city of Tours and threaten to win the region, and on the other a new alliance of common sense, right, from the center but not only.

I appeal to all those who do not want our region to fall into ideologues and extremists to come together.

Is it out of the question for you to form an alliance with an LREM list?

No unnatural alliance with parties of the presidential majority!

But I am a pragmatic elected official.

My door is open to all those who, although having been convinced one day by Emmanuel Macron, have ended up opening their eyes.

Playing politics means bringing people together, including those who may have been wrong or who have become aware of the danger represented by the far-left Greens.

Xavier Bertrand can he win the right in the presidential election?

Of course, this is a serious assumption.

Our priority with Christian Jacob is the project before the incarnation: talking about the presidential election today would be particularly presumptuous as the situation in our country is so serious.

My conviction is that a natural candidate will emerge next summer.

Xavier Bertrand can be part of it.

Are you in favor of the deployment of 5G?

Rather than promising us 5G tomorrow, wouldn't it be the absolute urgency to devote the financial resources to this France, ours, which still does not have very high speed, nor 3G, nor 4G?

Progress is also the equality of territories.

On the Bridgestone file

(Editor's note: tire factory threatened with closure in Béthune)

, what can the state do?

If we were responsible, we would force Bridgestone to find a buyer, and we would immediately impose the automatic repayment of all public aid.

Is the Paris Match staging of your private life on Instagram to boost your presidency?

My private life, no.

But on social networks, I try to be as I am, to show our fellow citizens that there are still elected officials in France who are not locked in their office.

I am a politician different from the others, I am not an enarque, nor a high official.

I did not go to high schools.

I live in the rural world, I have simple passions.

To show that in my few moments of leisure, I like football, running or fishing in our ponds of Sologne, I am very proud of it.
