(CNN) ––
Jeremiah "Jerry" Harris, one of the students of "Cheer," the Netflix documentary series, was arrested on a charge of producing pornography.
This was reported by Assistant District Attorney Joseph Fitzpatrick.
Harris is scheduled to appear in federal court in Chicago this afternoon, Fitzpatrick told CNN.
A representative for Harris did not immediately respond to CNN's email request for comment.
Harris, 21, is charged with "inciting a minor to produce sexually explicit videos and photos of himself," according to a criminal complaint.
The measure was filed in the United States District Court in Chicago.
The minor was 13 at the time, according to the complaint.
The production of child pornography carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years, according to a press release from the United States Attorney's Office.
Police interviewed Harris this week about the allegations, according to the criminal complaint.
Earlier this week, Harris was charged with child sexual exploitation and abuse in a lawsuit filed by an attorney representing two alleged victims.
A Harris spokesperson told CNN at the time: “We categorically dispute the allegations made against Jerry Harris, which allegedly occurred when he was a teenager.
We are confident that when the investigation is complete the true facts will be revealed. "
"Cheer" recently won two Emmy Awards.
It also has an Outstanding Unstructured Reality Show Nomination.
The winner will be announced on the final night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards this Saturday, virtually.
