MOSCOW - SANA criticized Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for failing to acknowledge the mistakes made by the United States

Moscow - SANA

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized the United States ’failure to acknowledge the mistakes it had made in the Middle East region.

"Russia Today" website quoted Lavrov as saying in a televised interview published today. The United States does not honestly acknowledge the mistakes it made in the Middle East and North Africa region, referring in this regard to the American occupation of Iraq in 2003 during the era of former US President George Bush.

Lavrov added, “It would be interesting to see the current assessment of the situation in Iraq by the former US president, but it is unlikely that anyone will return at the present time to this issue and the times when people have honestly admitted their mistakes.

The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that no country has gained any benefit from the American measures based on interfering in the affairs of states and changing their systems, recalling in this context the developments in Libya, and he said: “They tried to do this in Syria, but they failed, and now I hope that everything will be done in Libya in another way. ”

The United States has been supporting terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq, while Libya has suffered since the NATO aggression against it in 2011 in a state of chaos and insecurity in light of the proliferation of weapons and terrorist organizations that are trying to impose their influence and control over various cities and regions.
