Are the winds of resignations blowing over Libya?
In a speech broadcast on television, Fayez al-Sarraj, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (recognized by the international community) announced Wednesday evening his intention to resign at the end of October.
On September 13, the head of the parallel government, based in eastern Libya, Abdallah al-Thini resigned from Parliament.
The two leaders continue to manage day-to-day affairs as protests have hit several towns in recent weeks amid deteriorating living conditions.
