The third wave of the new crown pneumonia epidemic has finally eased. The government today (17th) announced the latest unemployment rate. The unemployment rate from June to August remained at 6.1%, the same as the previous period. However, the number of unemployed persons rose to 248,000, an increase of approximately 5,800 from the previous period.
According to the latest labor force statistics released by the Census and Statistics Department today, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 6.1% from June to August, the same as the previous period.
The underemployment rate also increased from 3.5% in May to July 2020 to 3.8% in June to August 2020.
