Faults, parents having to sit with their children and lack of computers • Adi Damari, mother of 3: "It has no effectiveness"

The education system closed yesterday until further notice, distance learning back - and with it the frustration of parents.

While parents have requested that distance learning not take place (at least not in the lower grades) and that school days be reinstated in full, Education Minister Yoav Galant and his ministry insisted on the method - even in kindergartens.

Distance learning has caused many parents to sit by the children and the computer since the morning because children in first and second grades do not know how to operate a computer.

One of them is Adi Damari from Kiryat Shmona, a mother of three - Sahar in fourth grade, Ariel in second and two-year-old Michaela.

"I sat with Ariel all the time at the computer," Demari describes. I know how to operate a computer.

According to Adi, the desired solution was to drop out of school.

"Some parents leave their children with relatives who do not know how to operate computers, and there are many homes that do not have enough computers at home. I have nothing against the teachers. Who is to blame is the system itself. Distance learning in the lower grades has no effectiveness."

The technological difficulties also returned when students and parents reported that they had not been able to connect to the Center for Educational Technology's distance learning site.

There he admitted that "some specific technical problems have been created that have harmed the surfing and use experience. The barrage is working to fix them."

According to the Ministry of Education, learning in this way will last six days a week, 20 minutes daily.

In kindergartens, some parents plan a real revolt and call for it not to take part.

Zoom classes in kindergartens mean that kindergarten is now considered a full-time job, so after the closure ends, the teachers' union will refuse to return school days - as happened in the first wave.

The Knesset's Education Committee also debated yesterday regulations prohibiting the opening of educational institutions.

Members of the Knesset and representatives of the parents demanded in the debate that it be possible to open educational frameworks for children from birth to 6 years of age.
