Two deaths and some 677 people affected nationwide are the result of the most recent rains registered in Honduras, according to the authorities of the Permanent Contingency Commission (Copeco) on Wednesday in a statement.
According to the report, the flooding of rivers and streams affected several houses in different parts of the country, also damaging the corn and bean crops that farmers had planted.

According to relief authorities, the departments most affected by the rains are Francisco Morazán, Lempira, Comayagua, Valle, Olancho, Colón, Cortés, Yoro, El Paraíso and Copán.
Contingency officials maintain the green and yellow alerts in these departments that are being affected by the rains that hit the Central American country as a result of the hurricane season.
