Alongside the checkpoints that will be set up in the run-up to Rosh Hashanah, hundreds of vehicles and police will conduct searches across all the arteries and set up temporary checkpoints at various points.
This is in order to locate citizens who violate government regulations.
The second closure comes in the wake of the dramatic increase in coronary heart disease in Israel.
In recent days, the average daily infection rate is higher than 4,000, and the monthly mortality rate reaches hundreds of deaths.
As of the latest update from the Ministry of Health, the number of corona victims was 1,163 - about 40% of them under the age of 80.
According to a forecast published today by a team of experts from the Hebrew University, in the coming weeks the number of deaths may increase by 1,000 to 2,500 - depending on citizens' compliance with the guidelines and the quality of enforcement of the closure.
