A traffic accident in Cartago, Costa Rica, left at least seven dead.

Six people died Wednesday night in a traffic accident that involved a Public Force patrol and a small bus, the Costa Rican Fire Department reported.
The accident occurred in Cartago, a province bordering San José, the Costa Rican capital, at around 9:30 PM local time.

According to the fire department report, 7 people were traveling in the private vehicle, 6 died at the scene and a minor was taken in critical condition to the hospital in the area where he died this Thursday.
It is presumed that the fatalities were part of the same family.
The Red Cross treated the 2 officers, who were transferred in stable condition to the medical center.
The patrol was on the way to attend to an incident when the crash occurred.
So far the reasons that caused the accident are unknown.
