Just before the State of Israel enters the Tishrei holiday closure due to the sharp rise in morbidity in Corona, German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass issued a greeting on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah.

"In the year 5701, I wish all the Jews, their families and friends in Germany and around the world, a happy and blessed year, a year of happiness and a year of solid health.

"A difficult and shaky year has passed for us. A year that began with a horrific attack on the goddess on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Two people were killed in cold blood and only thanks to a strong wooden door, the lives of worshipers in the synagogue were saved. The whole world is still struggling with a plague that has unfortunately also ignited the flames of racism and anti-Semitism.

"I see the last year as a warning to all of us: anti-Semitism and hatred pose a threat to society as a whole. We must stand firm against them and show civic courage in the struggle for a liberal, tolerant and pluralistic society, by all means available in a state governed by the rule of law." Through the International Holocaust Remembrance Mission, a body that fights Holocaust denial and minimizes its significance in the global arena. We want to intensify the overall fight against anti-Semitism in both the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the future Chair of the Council of Europe Ministers.

"The beginning of a year is also always an opportunity to look to the future. I look forward to the new year, which we will mark, starting in January, 1700 years of Jewish communities in Germany. I am very excited to know that 75 years after the horrors of the Holocaust, so many Jewish citizens call We will take advantage of this year as a golden opportunity to show everyone, in Germany and in the world, that the Jewish religion and tradition and their symbols are part of our culture and that they enrich us today and will continue to do so in the future.

"I send a happy and sweet New Year's greeting to Israel as well. Germany and Israel have very close ties, multi-faceted and unique. The Israeli Foreign Minister Ashkenazi also proved this, by choosing to fly to Germany as part of his first visit abroad after taking office.

For the past 55 years, the two countries have been establishing official diplomatic relations.

It is very important for us to deepen and strengthen these relationships based on common values and foundations.

"Despite the limitations derived from the corona plague, I wish the whole house of Israel a happy holiday. Stay healthy and who will give and all your plans and wishes for the coming year will come true."
